ELECTRICAL

Learning the trade of an electrician will give participants vital skills that can be transferred to a multitude of different energy career pathways.  After learning basic electrical safety principles and protocol, learning how to identify potential hazards before they become an issue. You’ll apprentice in a worksite and develop the skills that would help you find success in a range of construction and industry positions. 


Project BLACC will help you prepare to successfully complete an OSHA electrical certification course, and you will get real world experience working in this fast growing field.

Electrical curriculum & training

Hands on Training

Project BLACC Electrical training program strives to have all participants obtain a journeymen certification. This certification will allow our participants to become registered electricians and work towards becoming masters in their field. The dynamic twist with our program is that we offer solar training as a specialization with our program. Each attendee will take a solar certification class to learn how to work within the growing field of solar energy.

Curriculum

Our curriculum starts with learning the following areas:

  • Solar Installation & Planning
  • Electrical Installation
  • Diagnosing electrical installations
  • Calculations
  • Understanding electrical diagrams
  • Construction drawing review
  • Direct placement with an apprentice
  • Testing the first year with Project BLACC to ensure thorough understanding of all written components of the field.

Timeframe for training

The training program involves learning the basic areas listed above in electrical. The first year each student attends our workforce preparedness program before starting. This includes learning mathematical and technical drawing assistance to be successful in the field. We will directly place you with an apprentice program and get paid as soon as you sign up for the program.
