ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

Environmental Monitoring is a fast growing profession that involves monitoring our living conditions, such as air and water quality. With accelerating development and expanding infrastructure, pollution is on the rise, and environmental monitors can work alongside industry and the government to ensure that facilities and new construction meet regulatory standards. During your training in environmental monitoring, you will learn air, water, soil and waste monitoring. These three broad subjects will be split into many topics that will help you learn and apply this trade to better the health of your family, neighborhood, country, and even possibly the world.  With this environmental monitoring certification you can pursue very rewarding employment as an environmental manager, data collection, and environmental engineer.

Hands on Training

Project BLACC Environmental monitoring and training includes creating baseline testing or soil, air, and water. This includes learning how to test all three areas using equipment and documenting the data in a credible way to be used by local state and federal organizations.  After completion of our workforce preparedness program we will provide training in environmental monitoring. The training program involves completing one year of hands on training with a direct apprenticeship with C5 or with a local partner. With the apprenticeship you will take the hands on and class room activities to meet all areas needed to complete your certification. If a participant wants to explore a higher education in environmental engineering or law we create pathways to connect them with universities to assist in that career path.

We will directly place you with an apprentice program and get paid as soon as you sign up for the program.

Curriculum

Our curriculum starts with learning the following areas:

  • Learning water testing procedures
  • Installing and monitoring air testing devices
  • Data collection
  • Understanding the data and how it relates to the environment
  • Contaminant studies
  • Baseline Data process and procedures
  • Composting
  • Plant and Insect Importance

Timeframe for training

The training program involves attending the training classes and learning how to collect and analyze data. This program requires 2 years of study to properly understand how to collect, analyze, and create an action plan for the data collected. This program can be expanded into the collegiate area.  If the collegiate path is the interest of the participant we will create a pathway to enrolling in their college of choice.

If the participants wants to work within the field, we will directly place you with an apprentice program and get paid as soon as you sign up for the program.
